1. Contest Description: To promote that businesses are open on Eglinton Avenue between Weston Road and Laird Drive, Crosslinx Transit Solutions is leading the coordination of the Gallery City initiative and running a Contest: Entrants will have a chance to win one of a minimum of ten (10) art pieces displayed in the participating storefronts by submitting a ballot form into the ballot box provided in the storefront or through an online ballot for participating vacant storefronts. Online ballots will be available at
  2. Contest period: Contest runs from July 3, 2017 to August 25, 2017 during the business hours of participating storefronts and online (“Contest period”).
  3. Eligibility: To be eligible to enter, the Participant must be (i)  18 years of age or older prior to July 3, 2017, and (ii) a legal resident of Ontario. Employees and representatives of Crosslinx Transit Solutions (the “Sponsor”), Metrolinx, suppliers or materials and services related to this contest, and any member of the household of such employees are not eligible to enter or to win the Contest.
  4. How to Enter: No Purchase Necessary to Enter. To enter, eligible Participants must complete a Contest Ballot Form with their (i) full name, (ii) email address, (iii) address, (iv) telephone number where they can be contacted by the Sponsor, and (v) correct answer to the mathematical skill-testing question provided on the Contest Ballot Form, and submit the Form. Entering a Contest Ballot Form into a ballot box or online enters the Entrant into a random draw to win their choice of a displayed art piece from that artist. To enter the draw for another art piece in a different participating store, the Entrant must complete and submit an additional Contest Ballot Form into the ballot box provided in the participating storefront or online for participating vacant storefront where art from the desired artist is displayed. Entrants may win a maximum of one (1) art piece. By submitting the completed Contest Ballot Form into the ballot box or online, the Entrant agrees that the Entrant understands, accepts and complies with the Official Rules.
  5. Drawing: On September 15, 2017, there will be one random draw for each Participating Artist. A minimum of ten (10) winners will be selected, one for each participating artist.  Odds of winning depend on the number of entrants. The Entrants who submitted the winning ballots, shall be notified within ten (10) business days of the selection via the Selected Entrant’s contact information provided on the Ballot Form. The Sponsor is not responsible for the failure, for any reason whatsoever, of a Selected Entrant to receive notification or for the Sponsor to receive a Selected Entrant’s response to notification. The Selected Entrant has ten (10) business days to contact the Sponsor to claim their prize, if not claimed, the Sponsor will select another winner.
  6. Winners: Before a Selected Entrant is declared a winner of the Contest (the “Winner”), the Selected Entrant will be required to sign and return to Sponsor, prior to the deadline to be provided by the Sponsor, a Declaration and Release of Liability Form prepared by the Sponsor (i) confirming the Selected Entrant’s understanding, acceptance and compliance with these Official Rules and (ii) releasing the Sponsor, Metrolinx, and suppliers of materials and services related to this Contest, (collectively, the “Releasees”) from any liability in association with this Contest.
  7. Limitations of Liability: Without limiting the release provided above, by entering this Contest, regardless of whether the Contest Ballot Form is selected or the Entrant is declared a Winner, the Entrant agrees that Releasees will not be responsible or liable for: (a) errors, omissions, interruptions, deletions, defects, or delays in operations or transmission of information; (b) theft, destruction, unauthorized access to or alteration of entry materials; and (c) any injuries, damages, or losses to any person or property resulting in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from participation in this Contest or any Contest-related activity.
  8. General: The Contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial, municipal and local laws. By entering the Contest, Entrants agree to comply with these Official Rules and the decisions of the Sponsor whose decisions are final and binding in all matters related to this Contest. Without limitation, the Sponsor reserves the right to administer an alternate skill-testing question as it deems appropriate to address discrimination or disability issues. Entrants who have not complied with these Official Rules are subject to disqualification. Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole discretion and without prior notice, to modify, cancel, terminate or suspend this Contest. Paragraph headings are for convenient reference only and are not to affect the interpretation of these Official Rules. If any provision of these Official Rules is declared invalid or unenforceable, such provision shall be deemed modified to the extent necessary and possible to render it valid and enforceable. In any event, the unenforceability or invalidity of any provision shall not affect any other provision of these Official Rules.
  9. Privacy: Participants’ privacy is important to us. Personal information will not be shared by any third parties, and is used for verifying the eligibility of a Participant, and notification purposes. Once the personal information is no longer required to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, it will be destroyed, erased, or made anonymous, provided there are no legal requirements for its continued retention. Requests for access to personal information will be refused to the extent permitted or required by law.
